The answer is A.

The Missouri Compromise essentially noted that Congress could not impose restrictions on new states that did not exist on existing states. It was also understood that new slave states would be paired with new free states.

B is incorrect, because Texas was admitted as a slave state after Missouri.
D is incorrect - women's suffrage was a non-issue a the time.
C again has nothing to do with the issues behind the Compromise.
