Have you ever noticed that artists often speak of what they see in the eyes of their subjects? How about their hearts? Their souls? They even speak of life within the sunset, the sea, or the range before them. From their perspective they paint, sketch, write, or sculpt passion and pain, rather than faces, arms, legs, or landscapes.
While non-artists struggle to craft proper dimensions on canvas, the artist struggles to reveal the soul.
Artists are more aware of the world around themselves because they are more aware of the world within themselves and others.

i may say a big YES. im an artist in my own way, im an abstract painter. my ideas came from the people around me, sorroundings, environment, news, friends, other countries, emotions, sometimes its really wierd feelings. sometimes in my dreams im seeing places, other countries which i havent seen in real. i can also interpret dreams, handwriting and most of the time i can predict surprisingly. in fact i made a list of my predictions and check it whenever there were news, even other countries, im seeing and have a strong vibrations, and im telling these matter to my family and writing it down. after this im having a terrible headache. and my hands are trembling., so what i did was get my paint, brush and canvass and paint., artist are very sensitive, articulate, some are perfectionist on their own way, they have strong vibrations, and some artist if theyre outside or in other places, they are observant, and lastly they are good convertionalist. i salute all the artist around the world.

I am going to say YES, we as artists depend on our interpretations,of what we experience, and we use our art skills as a meaning of escape(some people use drugs) we use our skills to create the newer version of reality. People basically need other stimuli, we like feed off each other, which for an artist is great, cause it breeds new ideas, and gives harsh realities a perhaps a new edgier look. If you were an artist with no other input, what would you have, a one sided view

Thanx, I hope that's true! I know I've been told by various people that I catch things that most people take for granted. I don't know about behind the scenes, but I seem more intuitive and tend to focus on details.

If an artist, including writers, painters, poets, etc. are not aware of the world around them...are they really artists.
Music composers get their sounds from nature and translate those sounds into music....writers get their ideas from the world around them and translate the world into a story line....and so it goes.
I write and many times I get my story lines from the news, friends, etc..
And, there are some artists who enjoy staying head of the curve in that they write, sing and paint what has yet to be factual in the world around them...

Yes absouloutly! We artists have a 3rd eye in the middle of our head that makes it possible for us to feel the pain, and beauty of the world! Thats why we're able to display it so well in our art!

I would imagine that they are more observant of their surrounding environment so I'd say yes, they are more away. At least when it comes to the scenery.

Maybe more so than normal people. I think it's because they're able to observe things better.
