This was my question and the answers:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ahuqref.vGAxlUophB1D8U_sy6IX?qid=20061009085736AA92Gk9
After reviewing the answers as well as the profiles of the people who answered, what I saw in the liberal responses to this question was:
1) Sacrifice/do nothing
2) Kill Republicans
3) Investigate Bush
4) Wow, one person was willing to make an effort.
Is this what Democrats have to offer if they take over in November?

Fine, then. The question has hereby been rephrased from terrorism to terrorists.

Debra H: I asked an open-ended question and got back hate and apathy - responses that were hardly invited.

Tofu: Dying doesn't stop terrorists, that's what they want. And, through inaction, you would let others die as well.

tom l: you're a "card carrying Republican"? I looked through some of your other answers - more like yet another liberal pretending to be conservative in order to make it seem like Republicans are bailing - a liberal tactic liberally applied in this forum. I asked a fair, open, non-biased question. You can see the answers for yourself - assuming you will bother to see.
By the way, I did vote in the last election - against Kerry.
Also, this question was aimed at both Republicans and Democrats - I wanted to see if Republicans were willing to pony up themselves instead of just "supporting the troops". I find conservatives willing to step up and liberals (but not all) doing what they do: hate.

old tree planter: Perhaps I should have used the word "terrorist" rather than "terrorism", but the question in general has to do with what are you willing to do, or put up with, in order to win. Accepting a lower standard of living is an answer.

You have just conducted the best, and maybe the most accurate poll on Democrats that's been done.
You have nailed the Democrat Beliefs. That's all they stand for. That's all they got: hate for America.
Good work!!!

Gosh ,this implies that we could defeat terrorism. If we really could defeat or get rid of terrorism , I was sacrifice a lot, mostly in the realm of material wealth. I would accept a lower standard of living. Not that there is any connection between austerity and fighting terrorism. I would not sacrifice my sons lives ,what can I say I'm selfish.I would not sacrifice free speech. But really i don't think terrorism will ever be defeated. We can protect ourselves .We can fight, kill, imprison ,defeat individual terrorist, and make life safer but in an imperfect world I think we'll always have terrorist.

Must be some research you did... I would say it is a little biased if nothing else.
... Maybe what Democrats have to offer is simple peace...wouldn't that be nice. anyone, Republican or Democrat that wins and cares more about the American public than about his own selfish wishes will be good with me,. Bush cares for himself and nothing else.. He is a wanna be hero in a world that does not need heroes.. we just need good men who stip up to the plate when called. he never ever stepped up.. he hid...

These liberals want to live in this country and enjoy all of it;s positive features and expect no one to make sacrifices to keep this country that way. OK, maybe they think EVERYONE should make the sacrifices but them!!!

The premise of your question is flawed. Terrorism is a philosophy. Asking if it can be defeated is like asking what color is saturday. Rephrase with "terrorists"

Let me ask you a question,,, did you bother to vote last election or where you still in diapers
Making law is the responsibility of Congress,,, and we seem to have a President that has forgotten that (AND THAT IS AN EXTREMELY CONSERVATIVE VIEWPOINT)
