I had my last one for 5 years. I upgraded some of the components just to be able to use it as a backup and then went out and bought a completely new one just to be able to do videos and things like that.

Wow, computers... how much space do I have here? It's about 5 years old and killing me right now! Crashed a couple of nights ago when I tried to defrag it, ("Serious error" type stuff).I then spent TWO HOURS on the phone to a 360 friend in the US while he went through step by step instructions on how to rescue it. (And wiped away my hysterical tears and made me hot strong coffee).
I'm totally computer illiterate! Cookies are something I dunk in my coffee! And a hard drive is coming back from the football on a 5 hour coach journey when we've lost.
But! I have good friends who understand my desperation and are coming to the rescue, sometime in the next couple of weeks. If all else fails, I have my mail-order catalogue and a good credit rating! (Unless I get a certain Xmas prezzie from a certain person! ;-) My address is...
On the up side, CHECK MY BLOG!!! Hee hee... have finally gotten the better of youtube!
If I purr louder than Frankie will I get ten points?? :-)

I've had my current computer about 2 years now. I am horribly obsessed with The Sims. The program doesn't run at optimum speed because I don't have a video card with enough memory. I can't just install a better video card (which is so FREAKING STUPID!) so if I wanted optimum performance I'd have to get a new one, which clearly I can't afford to do...

Had it since May (used) and it's slow and just Win2000. Would like a better vid card and some more speed. Done some upgrading, but the green stuff is tight.

It must be at least 4 years. Even sent it back for repairs under warranty.
It's ok for what I need it for, but my cable connection sucks and it takes forever to log on to the net.
They told me it was because of the way the cable was spliced numerous times and the signal weakens.
Wonder if they are right?
I just know I am very frustrated at times.

I've had my computer (which I'm not using to post this) since January of '03, and now almost nothing works. The only reason I still use it is because ironically, the dvd player still works, and I use it to sync my palm pilot; time for a new one, I guess.

: )

I've had mine for 5 years. It still works fine, just a little bit slower so I have to clean it out more often.
