It sounds like what I have (hormonal imbalance). I got to the point where I was bleeding all the time, except for two days a month.

The doctor will give her the Pill to regulate her cycle.

Did she just start her period within the last year or so? Irregular periods are totally normal when you first start. A doctor can prescribe birth control pills which will regulate her hormones and should make the periods normal. In the meantime, tell her to make sure she's eating lots of protein or taking vitamins. Lengthy periods can make you low on iron which will make her very tired and feel a little sick.

its not a problem- when we're younger it happens alot, if your friend is athletic or has recently changed in weight, her period may stop. I have this problem all the time- freshman year (high school) i was playing for three soccer teams at once and lost alot of weight and because of this, my period stopped for a few months- an increase in weight or exercise can temporarily stop your period but it will come back once things come back to normal. so, no worries! have a happy halloween!:)

Your "friend" will most likely need to get on a low dose birth control pill. This will regulate her periods. Make sure she (you) goes to the doctor, in the meantime taking an iron supplement would be wise; due to the large amount of blood loss.

Well, you don't say how old your friend is...but when I was a teen, by friend had the same problem. The doctor put her on the pill to help regulate her periods and after awhile she was able to get off the pill and everything was okay. Hope all goes well for your friend.

I had this problem when I was 16. It could be because you are young and you are still going through puberty or it could be a hormonal problem. The best advice I can give you is to talk to a your mom about this problem. It might be best to visit a GYN to make sure everything is ok.

When this happens doctors normally prescribe the birth control pill because it regulates periods.

Actually I had a similar problem, they will check her for fiboids that could be causing this. It could also be her thyroid. They may want to put her on birth controll to lighten her flow.

It depends how how old your friends is....if she is young and is just starting...it takes time for your body to make a "regular" schedeule, but either way,I would take her to the doctor...better safe than sorry
