Yes! I'd even be happy with a standard 10 hour day to have 4 days a week. I think kids should have 4 day weeks for school, too.
I try and work 4-10s since my job allows it when workload is heavy, but usually I can only get 9 max and still end up working part of Friday.
I have children and I never get to spend any REAL time with them during the week, then the weekend comes and I have to deal with all the chores that I couldn't get to m-f, so it's always work of some kind. In fact, I'm on my "lunch break" right now... the only reason I have time to be posting... either that or late night when I'm finally clocked out (I work from home).
Bites!

Everyone has always liked the idea of a three day weekend, but look at it this way-you have a hard enough time getting what work needs doing done within five days. If that was cut down to four, how much harder would it be?

I think most people work way too hard and too much. Many workaholics end up missing out on a true, fulfilling life. I am all for limiting hours per work week so that people can actually have lives, spend time with family or friends, and just unwind. We all have to recharge our batteries, so that we can keep going. How one goes about recharging those batteries is up to the individual. If, in your case, that means taking Wednesdays off, then go for it.

Sounds like a good deal, especially for families like mine where both parents work and one day is for cleaning and the other day is like a family gathering/church day. It would be nice to have just one more day, any day, to get to spend with your kids, do errands, etc... watch a movie would be nice once in a while...but you know what helps me? getting to work earlier in the day and beating the rush. I get SOOO much more done that way!!

So can you make it financially if you declare Wednesdays all holidays? B/c I doubt your boss will give you a 20% raise if this is declared.
