No, because most of them do not employ even the most fundamental forms of controls which are common place in financial systems.
There is no audit trail, there are many security holes in them and they can be easily manipulated by somebody who has a clue.
They should not be banned, but they should be required to meet a standard set of criteria to ensure accuracy and reliability. An independent 3rd party should audit these things.

I don't understand why some people think we should have to verify our identity, that would stop voter fraud. When I voted at the primary, I pretended to forget my name and the read right off the sheet. The woman said nothing, she couldn't say anything anyway. I could have just looked and read a name off.
To the guy below, what independant party would be agreed apon? Maybe the NAACP, or ACLU! HAHA That would be hilarious, I'd prefer a corporation like Halliburton to those two.

I'd sooner trust a mindless machine than a person with his own agenda counting the ballots.

No reason not to trust them. The Democrats demanded them because paper ballots were too confusing. You libs get what you want but just can't be happy with it.

Both parties said they were fine to use. I guess as long as the software is up today they should be fine. to the poster than says that we should vote on the Internet is inviting voter fraud to new heights.
