Birth Control is only about good for preventing pregnancy. Just like a condom or the pill I think its only 95% effective. I am not sure if its expensive I had insurance and I only paid my co pay which was $5. But I never took the pill to many side effects/risks for me and I don't want my body pumped with drugs.. Just remember nothing is 100% unless you dont have sex.. So before you go down that path keep in the back of your head if your ready to be a mom and if your partner is ready to be a dad.

There are lots of benefits and risks to b/c. Some can make you only have a few periods a year, some will clear your skin. Then again some will make you gain weight and cause blood clots and strokes. It is something you need to talk to your doc about. Most public health departments have a family planning program where women can get low-cost or even free birth control.

If you take contraceptive pills properly, then there is still a small chance (less than 2%) that you will get pregnant - using condoms properly as well should take care of that 2%. Contraceptive pills also help regulate your monthly cycle and can often help get rid of heavy bleeding, and sometimes pms. I'm not sure about cost, sorry.

ok first off....don't use the method earlier mentioned...the whole do it during your period. That so does not work! if you are in the US sweety go to planned parenthood. they are all over the US. Better yet if you are in NY you can get in a program where pills are free. I have been on the pill for 8 years, it regulates your period, lowers your cramps, reduces acne, and i know exactly what day and time i will have my period and when it will end. I start tuesday afternoons and end Saturday afternoon. I recommend the pill!
