i would see if i can find the owner of it but if i can't and it turns out that i can keep it,,,,,,i would use 1,000 to pay off any bills then bank the rest until i think of something,,maybe invest.

If I found the money in a wallet with identification I would feel guilty if I didn't return it...so I would
but...
If I found the money without any I.D. attached to it I probably would keep it and pay off some bills and pay my rent a couple months in advance..stock up on food and get some things for the apartment.
If I had some money left over I probably would pick up some music or movies or something....

It would be tempting for many to keep it and yes I'd wish it was mine but my conscience would never allow that.
I'd try to find the owner. Who knows, it may be everything he/she has.

i would take it to the cop shop and ask them to help find the owner
