how about you?
I was walking the beach yesterday, when I noticed how many children seemed not chubby, not big boned, but obese. Their faces disfigured by the fat. I was very sad for them, and very mad at the parents. I mean these kids are our future, and the parents are making them into our future healthcare crisis with early onset diabetes, heart disease, etc..It's just not right, in my opinion..What's yours?

I agree. I had seen some talk shows with the obese children and the parents were saying they will feed them whatever they want. One lady fed her child like 7-8 eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon for breakfast and like 6-7 sandwiches and chips for lunch.

I dont even know many adults that can eat that much. Children need to be taught what and how much to eat. They dont know.

Well, then do something about it. Obese children is awful but so many worse forms of child abuse happen every day . Why? Because our human social service agencies are so horrible. Overworked and underpaid workers struggle with humongous case loads. And the whole of these agencies are run by moronic overpaid idiots put in there politicly.
What to do? Bring it out in the open..like everything else. It needs to be brought out into the public eye over and over again in order for people to realize that these things are big problems that need to be solved.....whining about it does no good. Action does!

I agree with you! It is the parents responsibility to watch there children and what they eat. Un-healthy eating habits can cause serious adverse health effects, including breathing problems and depression. (to add to your list) It truly sickens me to see these kids have to suffer because of there parents own ignorance! Parents need to grow up and teach these kids.... because these habits will be passed down to the future generations, and the next. Something must be done about it.... I say we get rid of the GM foods...(we did not start having this problem until they were introduced into our food supply, if anyone even cares anymore)...Its like no one in the Country cares what goes into there food, or into there children's mouths!!!! Getting worked up now... in short, This will not only affect us, and our future generations.... but our economy, and our health care as well. This problem is more 'obese' then we give it credit for. Something needs to be done about it.

Obese children's parents are responsible for child abuse. There is no, no excuse for a child to be overweight. Not genes, not metabolism it lies fairly and squarely with the parents. If you don't eat more calories than you need then you won't get fat. If you eat more than you need but exercise the rest off you won't get fat. People who have fat children are either too sturpid to realise these simple truths or don't care.

If you should have to pay for health care because of obseity then it should be compulsory for people who get aids through sex to pay or die instead of bleeding the health service of it's precious resources for people who are terminally selfish as well as stupid.

I agree with you 100%. Parents are at fault. Childred should be served a good meal and told to eat. They should be kept away from the McDonalds of the world, and kept on a decent diet.
They should be limited on television time, an dforced to enjoy so much outside play and exercise.
Soft drinks are one of the most harmful things on earth to a child's health, and should be regualted or removed.
Parents should tell their children the truth about such things as pizzas, and , sodas,, ice cream, donuts, , and the importance of fruit, fruit juices, nuts, and veggies.
I tis up to the parents ot teach them good food habits and make sure they eat it.
It is not all of the parents fault. Companies are even more to blame. They raise animals soaked up with chemicals for fast and heavy growth that get into human bodies, and than create obesity in adults and children. It;s getting into us from beef, -pork, poultry, and fish.
You can follow the growth of tall peoples form the growth of mc donalds type foods and animal foods prepaired for fast growth.
Humans ar egrowing faster and larger with bad health effects all over the world.
The dutch are now the tallest people on earth per nation. Theaverage dutch is now 6ft 1 pe rman 5 ft 8 pe woman wher e 20 years ago it was 5 ft 6' man and 5 ft 2 per woman. they at first creddited this to good health care, bu tnopw know it is due to th emilk in factory fed cows, and the fast food intrusion.

You put food in front of your children tha tis good for them and tell them to eat it, not ask.

I hear it on TV everyday; however, I live in south Orage county and I see more anorexic poeple than obese. but this is only a small part of the U.S where poeple are obsessed with their weight and appearances.

I do agree that PARENTS ARE THE ONES RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR KIDS' WEIGHT ISSUES. and the parents of overweight (more that 10-15lbs overweight) children should have a form of punishment, like a fine, or bootcamp..! lol

Two parents working, prepackaged meals, fast food, Playstation 2, unsafe to let the kids go out and play from morning to night. It's a different world from when we grew up. I feel bad for the kids too. It's gotta be rough.

I agree. I can't believe we all of a sudden have a generation of kids with gland problems. I place it on TV, Fast Foods, Internet, and Parents who are too lazy to do the right thing for their kids.

to a factor mothers and fathers are to blame for his or her young ones being obese. they are meant to teach a newborn the thank you to eat, what to eat, and get them into wholesome workout exercises so as that as quickly as they are on their very own later in existence, they are able to safeguard themselves. there are young ones that insurrection against their mothers and fathers or perhaps however mothers and fathers say no they do it besides. They sneak nutrition, conceal it, etc. yet for the main section, confident. I do think of this is a style of latest child abuse and that i might call it extra forget than the rest using fact they are neglecting their newborn's obtrusive ought to workout and eat stunning. perhaps a invoice like that could coach mothers and fathers to be extra in touch of their young ones' lives and to stop being lazy mothers and fathers that assume their young ones to enhance themselves!

I think it is their responsibility but not abuse. The healthcare crisis shouldn't be an issue. They should have to pay for their own medical care, or die of obesity.

Be fat if you want, but be prepared to face the consequences.
