You can thank Stalin and Zedong for teaching (and mentoring) Kim IL Sung back in the late 40's and 50's. Like so many other communist scum leaders....Kim decided to rule with an iron fist. with Kim Jr, the acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.
So you can blame the early Communist/Cold War politics on this one.
As for the naive assessment that we should "leave other nations alone"...that's incredible stupid...considering that:
A. We are still at a state of war with that nation.
B. This madman pygmy spends more time and energy feeding, training, equiping, arming his 1.2 million man army than his general population.
C. This man wants total control over the Korean Peninsula.
and lastly, this madman has ties to Syria and Iran...for weapons (missile) development. So it is in this worlds interest that we STOP Kim Jr. from developing this weapons program.
Thanks.

I'm sure the Republipukes will figure out some way to blame it on Bill Clinton although he actually initiated talks with the nutcase in charge of North Korea. The truth of the matter is, that the fault goes all the way back to the Korean War and the failure to cross over into North Korea which is what General Douglas MacArthur wanted to do. So, the fault has to lie with Harry Truman whom most people on here have probably never heard of and are asking who's he? Isn't there some way we can blame it on Clinton? Sorry. But if its any consolation, Truman was a Democrat.

And "who" was the President back in 1994? More importantly, the Koreans have had an attitude "since" the Korean war. They hated the USA and a few others of course, but mainly the USA, since that war. No one, I don't care who it is, a person, a bunch of people, or a damned country! No one can be that angry, for "that" length of time, and not have a plan. I do believe we have just seen the beginning of their plan. So be ready to get surprised everyone, because it's just about time. And to know that we are here fighting amongst ourselves, and a lot of it is stupid crap we could deal with if we all acted our age. Regardless, we'll "be" fighting amongst ourselves when the koreans decide to surprise all of us. And then what? We won't have "time" to "deal" with the small stuff!
We'll be fighting off our own people, "and" them! I mean,
what? Are we trying extra hard to make the Bible come true "quicker?" That's all I have to say about that...for now

North Korea was a partner in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Agreement until 2003.
I'd say Bush's inept foreign policy emboldened him.

We should have been doing more to contain North Korea for the past three years instead of stirring up a hornet's nest in Iraq. It's a very tricky situtation when in Kim Jong Il we have possibly the most insane leader of any country in the world.

Yup, unlike 9/11, Katrina and gay pedophiles being in committies for the prevention of exploited children, the situation in North Korea really is Clinton's fault.

Clinton wanted to be friends with North Korea, so he helped them get their nukes.
Clinton wanted to be friends with Osama bin Laden, so he saved Laben's life 10 times.
You know, Clinton's friends aren't treating us too well.

It's North Korea's fault. Kim Jong II is hell bent on proving that his country is a force to be reckoned with although most of it's citizen's are poor, hungry, and sick. It doesn't matter what world events are going on around his country...the only thing he cares about is forcing countries (mainly the US) into lifting sanctions and give more aid. Very sad.

We place the blame where it belongs..the administration of North Korea.
My dad was stationed in south Korea in '79. This is NOT a new problem.
