do u know what goes in that blank?

This doesnt make sense.

Ok well 28 times negative 6 equals -168
now the other side
distribute negative six to 30 and lets call blank x....therefore on the right side of your equation you get: -180+6x

so.... -168= -180+6x
add 180 to both sides and you get:
12=6x
divide by 6 on both sides and x equals 2!

I think your parentheses are off


If 28x(-6)=30-(blank)(-6)
Then, blank = -5-28x

well, if (30-blank) is supposed to be (30x-blank), then the blank is 2x.

Otherwise, it's 5+28x.
