It's unbelievable I agree...

But more importantly the sizes over there beggar belief........they make our super meals look like starters in comparison....

Ihave to say that although English people are thinner overall....I am also a tad tired of hearing people go on and on about fad diets here and the usual...'I'm just off to the gym'......it seems we have become obsessed in another way re: food / weight. For all the efforts people seem to put in - or is it just tell other people they are putting in! - people are hardly model like in build....

Can anyone get the right balance of just eating normally and doing something healthy now and again?!

Both. Burger King is all grease and fat, so is McDonald's. Burger King, I have to say it worst. Because everything I get there-at the end (after I ate it) I always feel like I'm gonna throw up. And one time I did. So In my option I think both are really bad even though I never felt sick after McDonald's. Hope you like my answer.

That is unbelieveable. I HATE HATE HATE McD's and Burger King (and the rest of those low quality, high profit excuses for restaurants). The rubbish (ie containers and wrapping not just the food) generated by these places is clogging the arteries of the world. People are addicted to the crap they put in their food so they keep coming back or get cravings for it. I cannot wait for the day people come to their senses and stop going to these places. There is no excuse now as it is just if not more affordable to go somewhere else for better quality food.

You cant blame everything on junk food who can afford to eat in them all the time anyway.
i honestly think it is the amount you eat now if you have breakfast, lunch, evening meal your basic three meals per day and then you throw in a big mac or burger king then you will get fat it is quantity. it is all the extras that pile on the pounds i say as i tuck in to my bacon sandwich which I add is a meal and not an added extra.
We Brits are catching up by the way and getting fatter!

Just because someone is 'FAT,' it does not make him / they 'Bastards.'

I like what I heard tonight,

What's the definition of a 'Well balanced meal?'

A burger in each hand.

The problem is, 'there are many who believe just that.'

One time in a McDonalds (somewhere in the States!) - Oh, I was there under protest, by the way, a HUGE woman in the next queue (obviously in need of sustenance) order her ''3'' 'Large' burgers with extra fies, and added, "Oh, and an EXTRA LARGE Diet Soda."

It reminded me of a woman who I watched in a clinic.

She was asked to remove her coat and shoes and then step on the scales to be weighed. Well she did just as she was asked - while holding said coat, shoes and her large handbag in her hands.

Ho-Hum didle-de-de.
Sash.

It is worse than that. Some idiot researcher has "found" the gene that causes fatness. Fat is now officially an inherited disease from your parents.

Jesus !!!!

For anyone who does not think Americans are fat and lazy, find the crowd-shot pictures from the late 1940's in America. Especially sports photographs showing thousands of regular people in a crowd. These are our grand-parents who had this researcher's fat gene. These people are not fat or lazy. They were fine.

I'm sure everyone isn't fat. But however I can see that because if there was only a few people who grab a quick hamburger and many working people depend on a quick lunch as they do not have time to eat otherwise.Too few fast foods and many people would be late for work as people would have to wait in line UPS.And just maybe one of theses people could be a doctor that would save your life .Then would you call them all bastards?
