All I want to know is is the tape from the ring real .. because I saw it yesterday online and I gotta tell you I'm a little freaked out. I didn't geta call and I tooka picture of myself and it wasn't blurry or anyting I just want to know will I be safe.. p.s i saw it with my sister Nichole who also is freaked out

I hope you're kidding. No, the tape isn't real, and if it were, everyone who had seen The Ring would have died 7 days after seeing it. Besides, if you watch the (Japanese version of the) movie, it has to be seen on a vhs tape to work; something about the medium of the virus.

Yea I know, right? I was so freaked out I tried to watch it a second time and couldn't even watch the opening menu...have you seen the Grudge? That one freaked me out too...Here's a hint, if you love scary movies but just can't seem to get over being scared (some of us understand this part) watch the special features right afterward (if available), this way you see how it was made and won't be so scared...it works for me at least. Just know its not real...rent the movie and watch how they made it...It's actually kind of cool.

I loved that movie, it scared the hell out of me.
No it isn't real, just made to make you feel like it is.
