How do they know if they're swinging their arms too much, or too little?
Is there a proper way to do it?

I'm sure that they are told like the previous answerer said. If you ever watch shows like America's Next Top Model, they have coaches like Miss Jay tear each and every one of them apart until it's perfect.

Usually, models are how to told to do it. They are trained not to move there arms too much, 'cause that will make the focus blurry. You should try to stay still.

your arms shouldn't really swing...you walk normal and they will natural do there thing...if you put effort into it..it will show...just don't think about them and you'll be alright.

they've got peeps telling 'em what to do and how to do it. they get it perfected eventually.
