Hit your opponent hard and fast. Don't let up. Red is rarely successful as a control deck. Only worry about his creatures if they present an imediate threat to you. However, mono color decks are rarely the best. Red is better as part of a combo, most often with black or green, although blue and white offer some interesting decks as well. Your best choice for getting more info on Magic is to go to a Magic forum rather than here. I'd recomend the WotC forums, Brainburst, or MTGSalvation although I haven't played in so long, I can't be sure what resources are the best.

There's no such thing as a "best way" in M:TG. Sligh is a very popular red build; just do a search for a decklist and try one out.
