this is not a party issue .... the question is why did they try to cover it up .... do our children' safety out way political gain ... the republican platform is about morality yet numerous elected officials believe that doesn't include them .... being an alcoholic or gay doesn't make you a pedophile...

yet there seems to be a cover up once they are caught instead of addressing the problem by abiding by the standards they set

The Republicans ruined the Republicans, but Foley helped.

The Foley scandal put the last nail in the casket of the Republican 2006 election chances!

The Republicans, with a war most Americans don't like, ruined themselves in the coming election.

Neither,Foley stepped down but the democrats want to keep it going after the man is gone.Republicians have and will recovered from this scandal and I think this will push those who have been on the fence more towards the Republican party just as the 2000 election with the Gore BS pushed me to the republican side and I have no intentions of changing as the Democratic party continues to spew the hatred they have instead of coming up with any type of political campaign to run on they have to destroy the character of people..,look at what they are attempting to do with Allen. Its just disgusting, they cant win with a debate on issues so they after go dig up dirt like a gossip magazine.

As a Democrat, I would blame the society that created Foley for his actions.

As an enemy of the incumbent power, however, I would love to use their own philosophy agianst them, and say that the Republicans elected a pedophile, and the Republicans defend his defenders to this day.

I blame the REPUBLICANS for REPUBLICAN mistakes.

kind of both, but moreso that the republicans themselves are idiots. Foley was icing on the cake for a democratic victory.

All they had to do was boot that guy at the first whiff of inappropriate behavior. But they can't. They're Republicans. They have to cover it up. That's what is biting them in the butt-ocks right now.
