exactly like richard said.

can is pronounced as kan if you're talking about a tin can.
but can meaning able to would be pronounced as ken.

and can't is pronounced like kant

There are some local variations, of course, but:

can = ken

can't = kant (like "ant" with a k)

being american, i pronounce them "can" and "can't".
