Yes. Most are. Parents raise their kids to believe in fairy tales and they in the end they will live happily ever after and fall in love and everything will be a dream.
It just isn't so.
Don't you think if parents taught a more realistic views on life..there would be less suicides and depressions in adults.

I think that really depends on your environment when you grew up. Some parents are overbearing and like to sheild there children but even so i dont think in todays age you can really do that. For me, of course there is natural innosence however i didnt really expect it to not be a hard knock life i was preparing for a career and university since 2nd grade... for my childrens generation (if i have children ;) ) its going to be different media has exposed the worst of the worst now and def. by then there will no longer be that much of a false reality there may instead be too much of a harsh reality which is pretty bad because then we'll have 30 yr old 3rd graders walking around with weights on there shoulders

I do. I grew up thinking everyone either sold or used drugs., every ones goals were to have a lot of sex and to get money. I grew up thinking that there was two type of people, turtles(stayed in their nice little shells nice and sheltered and emotionally weak, as in if something penetrated that shell they were forever damaged) and wolves(scars heal and gives you have a tough skin, makes you stronger, survival of the fittest). Then I went to jail for five years(for selling drugs, gun charge attempted murder,I was defending myself and assault and battery) and was told that the way I grew up was wrong, and that I should educate myself and get a job and become a productive member of society. So I went to college and learned about politics, big business, and the food and drug administration. I learned that the reality is that there are ways to do it legally.

Yes. When I was little I thought anything was possible. I was once happy. now I do not think I have experienced happiness at all as an adult. even the happy things like the birth of a child are filled with anxiety.

YES. and overprotected too. I'm 13 and my mom just nowl let me start walking around outside. She acts as if we move that everything will get better. She doesnt like to face reality and realize that yes, people do murder, yes , people do suicide, blahblahblah. She likes to believe that if we move somewhere else that everything will be better as if no one will die there. That's why we keep moving. I just want to slap her and tell her to face reality.

Yes, I was brought up with Santa Claus, Jesus, Tooth Fairy, and Easter Bunny. Then I grew up and found only the Easter Bunny is real. ;-)
