My ancestors hae been in Scotland since early 800 AD and mabey earlier, sure we like each ither and nae doobt we micht nae tak tae abody richt awa bit ye ken as a mixed race Celic/Gaelic/Norse aye an even English we get oan weel wi abody as lang as they dinnae try and gieus a glesca kiss.

Many races have the same condition - if you show respect, then THEY will show respect.
This is true for the French, the Scots and many other races. If you show up & show no respect - can't even speak the language, then FU ! If you show up & make the effort, then friendship may well follow.
Consider the animosity for Latinos in the USA that can't speak "English" they are dispariged tremendously. English-speaking immigrants are much more welcome.

Scots are just like the Irish. I think its a catholic / Protestant thing hence celtic (cath) and rangers (Pros) always at war. Plus they seem to drink quite a bit. Not the best for happiness as its a downer.

i can't answer for all scots, but my grandmother was a scot and man, that woman could be mean...I know a guy who also had a scottish grandfather and that guy was cold, strict and mean...I have no clue why they would be that way, does it have something to with the cold, bleak, country?

In this day and age the scottish are no different to the english...except that we are at the top of the football league now. Up yours!

I am Scottish and very proud of it. I love my fellow Scots (mostly) and I adore my husband (English) and children (half English). I especially like the English when they get SOOOOOO upset when we do well as something, eg. beating France at footie and beating the English at rugby (my personal fave).

Scots r just like every1 else we don't like bigots racists xenophobes or any other narrow minded people they just like each other
btw is everyone elses grandparents not always grumpy old farts!!

I would have to disagree.... we are very loving to all, except when there is a Celtic V Rangers match which is a pile of nonsense. We are also very loyal and patriotic!!!

The Scotts are great people. Perhaps 'too' patriotic though!
