Oct. 5, it reports, is the most common birthday in the United States. An average 12,576 people are born on this day each year.

Conception would have been on New Years Eve, according to the site.

D.T. Arcieri, a biologist at Farmingdale State University in New York, says there's proof.

The average pregnancy lasts 274 days. Oct. 5, he wrote in an e-mail, is about 274 days from New Year's Eve, the day millions of Americans are celebrating with alcohol.

I would think a birthday sometime in summer because couple tend to have more sex when it is colder to stay warm and what not. Plus there's Xmas and New Year's party sex so if you tack on 9 months to that, I'd think September 11th or so is the most common birthday.

There are more birthdays in October & April than any other months. There are also more accidents & deaths in those "same" months. And more weddings too. Sounds a bit saddistic to me, why do you ask?

The month of April seems to be quite popular. I had 4 friends at one point whose birthdays were in April.
