I have been friends with him for 2 1/2 years, he is married (but for convenience only, a mutual agreement), he has bought me 16 roses for my birthday, mixed colour. What do you think about this? Is it just a nice gesture from a good friend? Or do you agree with my other friend that there is more to it?

Yes there was a card, with sentimental verse. Wish I was 16, but am actually 34! He is in late 20's. His marraige will end in July (it is an arrangement), but I am not sure if I want more or not, I did at one stage, but have got used to accapting things as they are. But if there was a chance for us it would be horribly complicated.

i sincerly believe that you guys have being friends long enough for you to figure out if the roses he sent you mean something more than friendship and anyway does getting you roses for your birthday mean he wants to move your friendship to anorda level? frankly i dont think so..ure probably reading more into it than you should

Maybe a bit of both. Maybe he has feelings for you but not enough to break up his relationship. Perhaps that is why he got you mixed roses and not just red ones. I think that he probably likes you, but in more of a friendly way. You should best wait and see if he talks to you about this. And if not joke around and say 'why the roses?'

Is it the first time he's done that to you? You will know and you will feel it if he likes you more than as a friend... you're the one who can tell that. If you find out he's inlove with you, it's not gonna be right if you build a more-than-friend-relationship with him coz he's married.

There is a lingering stereotype that roses are always linked with romance. Just be glad that your friend thought to buy you something nice. Don't overthink. If needs be talk to him and if he does have amorous feelings remind him and yourself that he is married and has a responsibility to respect his wife.

Sixteen roses I assume this means you are sixteen? If so you should be out enjoying yourself not wondering about a man who is married by mutal consent.

Enjoy his roses but don't let them grow on you on. All the best

awww how nice of him to get you flowers it was a lovely gesture....as long as his wife dont mind then i dont see there being a problem...NOW if they were all red roses then you'd have something to worry about...but i dont think he was after anything from you...it was a nice thing for him to do...and it's the thought that counts

Unless the card said more, it is just friendship. He is married (convenience or not), so he is off limits.
