the boyfriend and i are going to Vegas for new years from Austin (maybe we can do from Houston too) and everywhere we've looked so far is $300 and up. We might drive if we can't find anything else.

If you think the flights are expensive try booking the rooms. The rates are through the roof. Most hotels are booked well in advance. If I were you I'd do a package deal thru Expedia or Travelocity. Even a package deal will be expensive. New Years is the hottest time of year here in Vegas. Good luck.
