I learned more from research papers than any other teaching tool. Find something you are really interested in knowing more about and find multiple articles, research, and opposing views. Then pick and choose what makes sense to you. Work at finding answers and determining what is sound research and what is biased. A great research paper is one that captures your interest. The end product will always show whether you're reiterating information, or you truly explored and thought about your topic! Enjoy! I loved neuroscience, behavior, depression, and teaching techniques. I also was interested in child development, post traumatic stress disorder, abuse...etc., etc. Something will capture your curiosity...keep looking!

Which class is it for?

Here's a suggestion.

What is your dream job? Do a paper on something you want to know about that you might encounter in that job?

For instance, my goal is to work with women to overcome barriers for employment. For my economics class, I did a research paper on the barriers that mothers in rural communities face in breaking out of poverty.

A normal topic would be about a sports injury, a good one would be about Misterious Deaths and how they all lead to a Conclusion.
