Unless and until women start playing competitive football, the G.O.B. system will keep them out of the game as officials. {I for one would not be opposed to women refs as long as all officials were held to the same standards}

Some female fans were also cautious about, or in some cases even hostile towards, changes which threatened to 'feminise' the game. Many stated that they actually liked the game as it is, while others were concerned about drawing further accusations from male supporters about their status as 'real' fans. One concern among female fans about attracting more female spectators to football is that doing so might result in a reduction in the 'atmosphere' at matches. However, the majority of respondents were in favour of the greater involvement of women as administrators, officials and so on in the game due to the belief that this would be concerned.

Football is a sport that is tough and rough.If a women can brake that barrier of men and women being officials maybe there would be more people that go to the games and maybe it is possible if women can go and play football.

Any girl who likes football is a friend of mine, but to answer your question.

I really don't know. They have women refs in the NBA. I've never seen a woman umpire though. There's really not any reason why they shouldnt. If a woman knows her football, then let her ref!

That is a good point. I have never seen a woman in any position of authority in a professional mens sport team. I think it is just a sexist thing.

All you have to do is get into the league's training program, and be good at your job, if you can call a game well you should be fine. They can't discriminate based on sex. Hell, I'd love to see hot girls actually ON the field.

It can also be kind of dangeorus. Officials have been known to get leveled if they get in the way of a play.

Football is more of a man's sport, if you know what I mean. Not sounding sexist, but men like football more than women.
