8.21 gallons = 31.08 liters

$17.25US = $21.04Cdn (17.25/0.82)
(since $0.82US = $1Cdn, divide through by 0.82 to find out what $1US is in $Cdn, then multiply by 17.25)

So, cost per liter is $21.04Cdn / 31.08L = $0.68Cdn.

1gallon=3.785 liters
There are (8.21)(3.785) liters of gas in the car.
That is 31liters when you approximate.
The cost of a liter in U.S dollars is :
17.25/31=$0.56 approximately.
0.82 U.S$=1 Canadian$
So:
1U.S $=1/0.82 Canadian$
0.56U.S $=($0.56)/0.82Canadian$
$0.56U.S $=0.68 Canadian$

The cost in liters is approximately $0.68 Canadian$

First you change gals. to liters which is 31.06 liters, 17.25 x .82 equals 14.145 divide by 31.06 equals 0.46 per liter
