There was a clinic in Switzerland run by a Dr. Issels who had quite a lot of success with liver cancer patients. He promoted fresh air and a lot of vegetable juices plus spa water. It would be helpful for your mother to visit a spiritual healer as well as the conventional medicines she will be taking, since treating the whole person can bring comfort as well as healing. Bless you both and my prayers will be for her tonight.

I sympathise with what you are going through at the moment. My Mother was first diagnosed with breast cancer 6 years ago. She had a mastectomy and was given tamoxifen. 2 years later the cancer returned in the chest wall and she underwent a course of radiotherapy for 6 weeks.....doing a 140 mile round trip daily. Then 2 years ago she had secondary lung cancer and had chemotherapy. Then last Friday we were told that the cancer has gone to the brain. She has been given steroids and will go for radiotherapy again. She has always responded well to treatment and it is her strong character and determination which has got her this far. She has such a wonderful positive approach. Its an awful time but your Mum's faith and positiveness will help so much during treatment.
I wish you both well.

we could sparkling some issues up. sufferers with often happening liver maximum cancers would be skill liver transplantation applicants. the often happening liver maximum cancers (HCC - hepatocelluar carcinoma, not intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma) is amenable to transplantation whether this is under 5cm in diameter and not multi focal. In circumstances of multifocal tumour, RFA (Radio Frequency Ablation - the place alcohol is injected into the tumour and this is then heated to interrupt the tumour) may be used, yet back, has superb outcomes against tumour nodules under 5cm. For often happening HCC, yet another technique is chemoembolisation, which is composed of injecting a dose of chemotherapy quickly into the tumour, and then embolising the blood furnish to the tumour. For secondary liver maximum cancers, which predominantly has unfold from the bowel, there are nevertheless recommendations attainable, yet this relies upon on which segments of the liver are in touch, and how lots wholesome residual liver would be left to regenerate. in spite of little liver ultimate, this is grown previous to resection. RFA may be used if the there is common affliction in the appropriate lobe, with a solitary met in the left. Chemotherapy. by making use of the distinctive function she is in this, i might wager this is secondary liver maximum cancers, as chemotherapy isn't generally used to handle HCC. Oxaliplatin has had some stunning outcomes for colorectal liver mets, yet reaction fee, as with many chemo drugs, is around 30% who journey stabalised affliction and/or regression.

Please dont take to heart yokrem's comments, its not always fatal. It depends on how much of the liver is damaged. The liver is one special organ, as it has the ability to regenerate itself to good working order. You can cut away quite a chunk with very good regrowth, so there is always hope. It also depends if its primary (ie it started in the liver) or secondary (started somewhere else like bowles or breast and then moved onto the liver).
Thee are advances all the time with cancer treatments, get the opinion of more than one specialist for a start.
I know someone who has survived liver cancer, so you need to be positive.
Make sure she stays in good health, both body and mind. A lot of people give up when diagnosed with any cancer, but a positive attitude helps, look at all forms of treatment, not just chemo and radiotherapy, and make sure you are there when she needs a shoulder to cry on. Just a hug and a kiss can make the world of difference.
Your mum has something special to fight for - you and any other siblings you may have. The will of a mother not to leave her kids is immense, so you are keeping her going.
Be patient when she is going through treatment, as different treatments can affect people differently. It tends to make you feel worse. It can affect moods, judgement, memory, all sorts of things, so you may find you have to tread carefully and just be careful around her.
I lost my dad to testicular cancer 7 years ago, so i know from experience how traumatic and emotionally draining this can be.
Look, if you want to email me and chat, have a rant, by all means do so. I remember how isolating it was watching dad go through it, if you dont fancy talking to a stranger, talk to the hospital and see if there are any supoort groups etc, it can help so much just to talk to people who have been through the same. But please dont feel you are putting me out in any way if you want to chat, I remember not being able to talk to my dad about the emotional impact it had on me, cos I didnt want to upset him, and I found it hard not having anyone to talk to.
Maybe try the cancer research uk site, they may have some more info and advice.
I wish your mum well, I hope that everything turns out ok, big hugs,
lorraine xxxx

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I think you should know what you're facing.
There is no surviving liver cancer. My father, who was as healthy as a 30 yr. old man but was 51, died of liver cancer 23 yrs. ago. I know medicine has come a long way since then, but there is no hope with that cancer. It is terminal. I don't know if you're old enough to remember, but Michael Landon also had liver cancer. He tried all kinds of alternative medicines and practices and still didn't survive. They gave my father 3 mos. to live when he was diagnosed. He lived 6. It was horrible to watch him dwindle away. I was 19, my brother 17 at the time.
Just try to make her as comfortable as possible. She has great faith and positivity because all cancer patients do. Even up to the very end. I'm sorry that she has cancer, and I'm sorry for what you'll go through. Treasure the times now.

Take remedy SULFUR and BRYONIA thrice a day half hour before meals followed by 20 drops each of CARDUSS M and CHELIDONIUM half hour after meals together in a half a cup of hot water and take LYCOPODIUM after a week of taking the above regularly just one dose a week.
Avoid Chocolates, Coffee, Mints and Red Meat while taking Homeopathic Medicines and avoid all foodstuffs, which gives her constipation at all costs.
If there is any ambiguity about the dosage or the potency of the medicine please ask me before doing anything.
And keep me posted about her progress at least every three days.
It would be better if you send me her details exactly the way she feels them in her own words, not the doctors diagnosis. Let her describe her own feeling exactly the way she is feeling.
Take Care and God Bless you

I am sorry to hear about your mum. About a year ago I read an article and have always kept it in the back of my mind in case I or someone I knew would develop cancer.
Here is a link to the article http://www.cancertutor.com/Cancer02/DandelionRoot.html
I in no way am saying this will work or won't, but it is definitely worth a try. Maybe do research on this or talk to a herbalist.
Also, keep in mind that stress and negativity can cause illness and make existing illnesses worse, so try to get her to think positvely and limit her stress.
God Bless to you and your mum.

Milk Thistle is known to help regenerate liver cells so, check with her doctor first, but this is a completely safe complementary supplement to provide.
It was discovered thousands of years ago, and specifically sown in areas with toxic plants where cattle grazed - and the cattle could eat the toxic plants without damaging their livers!
Liver cancer is particulary vicious, so tell her you love her at every opportunity - and remember the good times together.
God bless you.
