A few things determine this. Immediately, how the art connects with me (its meaning or relevance) is important. However, even if the art's message means little to me, I can still appreciate it if the artist's concept is clever or thought provoking.

If the piece doesn't reach me in either of these two aspects, sometimes it can still be good based on its craft or aesthetic appeal.

It's all about intent, man.

first there is only one thing to know, art is a way of life, from where you are sitting, isn't there something about your computer, that you really like. isn't the chair you sit in, something that was desired when it was bought. being a great art collector is just as good a life, as being an art producer, more people can acquire art and enjoy it, by not having to slave over it, and produce it, there is charm in both and art is what is some stupid looking thing that was made in an art class, good art is anything that is anything, that is good.(see that the stamped spoons that fly out of presses were once crafted in silver smiths shop one at a time and you brought you coins in and had them melted down to get spoons back from these craftsmen) if you are a purest and want me to say it has to be fired in an oven and glaze in enamels. so there is this depth here that i will not take because of the vast number of failure to lunch as a career that we just would rather not get in to the few that sell against the hours of labor to produce it and most artist do not make good sales people they two are vastly different. "good art" makes you happy, so something you saw, and you pick it up and buy it, the eye of the beholder

Art, to me, is good when the picture really stands out at your eye and has a meaning to it. For example: if u seen one art piece that was a black drawn stick person, you would not compliment it but if you seen this wonderful colorful mosaic of art that has beautiful drawings and different prints, you would see it as good! Art is an opinion to everyone and good really has no definition, it's ur choice of words.

A piece of art is good if you personally love it...as they say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder..the art must either make you think or make you just feel good everytime you look at it.

Totally subjective. Art "critics" use nonsense jargon to EXPLAIN
art. Explanations are superlative. Some artists have used clever promotional gimmicks & by gum, there can be lots of $$ in that, but integrity is lost, & sooner or later, they flood the market & everyone forgets about them. I've been a professional artist for 36 years, & I feel "good" when people PERSONALLY relate to my work. They often "see" things I'd never intended, & that's fun. "Good" art is what appeals to YOU, whatever the reason.

Usually, an art piece that is thought provoking or stimulates conversation could be considered "good." And, of course, anything that appeals to you personally fits the bill too.

i'm able to't deliver myself to observe the video, yet everybody hurting animals, particularly canines, is basically disgusting Edit; I did some investigating to locate the petition and sign it; interestingly the completed component replaced right into a hoax. The canines is alive and entirely wholesome. The artist in charge had to concentration on how the inhabitants are worried over one canines getting used as a bite of paintings, yet dont care relating to the loads of canines on the streets in south usa.

For me, an art looks good when I see "natural-ness" in the work. It could be a master's artpiece or a simple kid's art.

its not about the artist! most of artists were nothing when they were alive... what makes a piece of art good is the way the artist use the colors and mix them ...
