There are many paths to becoming a professional songwriter. Unfortunately, most of them involve having some kind of connections in the industry.

What I would recommend is getting a job at a music label or a music studio. If you are a student, you can get an unpaid internship. If you're not, you can get an entry level job as a receptionist or assistant. You might have to work part time, but you have to be willing to do what it takes.

As an intern/assistant, you will meet people who are professionals in the field. You will learn all about the ins and outs of the music industry. So not only will you learn what you need to do, but you'll make valuable connections with people who can help you do it.

Good luck to you.
