I do not know where you come from, but if you want to live in Europe, you should bear in mind that every country has a completely -sometimes- different culture and attitude. That is Italian temperament has nothing to do with German sobriety and British phlegm is the absolute contrary of the French sociability.
It does not rain all the time. Especially in Southern Europe rain is most welcome, because it is very rare.
Regarding Greece... How come you want to live there?
It is true that the weather is magnificent most of the time, people are friendly, helpful and sociable, everyday life is not as stressed as in the rest of Europe and after the Games of 2004 the whole country was been upgraded in general. It is also an interesting country in terms of History and Arts with lots of sites, Museums, Galleries, good night life and lots of fun!
But it is also a very expensive country because of the Euro, the language is difficult (despite the fact that most Greeks speak good English) and the mentality is still a bit of ..."oriental"...
I could not recommend you a better place, because I do not know what you are looking for, but you can mail me I you want further information.
Good luck!

Go for it!!! I lived in the Netherlands in 2004 and it was the best experience ever. Europe has a great train system and budget airlines so you can travel all over for real cheap. Every weeekend I went some where different. It was so much fun and amazing. It doesn't always rain! I think Europe is fantastic and want to permanently move there in a couple of years. I know this sounds really cheesy, but I did learn a lot about myself and it is a real eye opener. I learned so much about other cultures. I grew up a lot and made tons of friends all over Europe. I have so many connections now, that I can visit people in Europe and have free places to stay. Don't listen to the close minded people who say "No." If you are thinking about it, JUST DO IT! It will probably be the best decision you have ever made.

Plse , stay where you are. Europe is like all continents not the promised land or continent. You, like all of us, are living in a very complex world which is under constant threat and change.
If however, you want to live and stay between the Gods, in a beautiful and very varied country, in between of well meaning but not perfect people, go for Greece... I have been travelling yearly since 1992 to Greece approx. 3 times a year; believe me its worthed.. hope to finally move and stay there myself within 2 years.. I wonder how you will decide.. I will probably never know.. even if we meet there as complete strangers.. God bless you

My wife and moved to Europe 10 years ago. First Ireland and now Greece. When we visit back in Oregon, USA we tell family and friends we are not ready, if ever, to give up the European style of life.
By the way Greece is substantially cheaper than Ireland to live in and because of our simple island life, cheaper than the USA middle class standard as well.
Your success will depend upon your attitude.

All I can say is
you will never know if you never go...
living in a different country is an interesting experience, it all depends how you adjust.
some people embrace the differences, others just get too home sick and compare everything to what they are use to.
go on give it a go...... live and learn/
love it or hate it you will be a better person for trying it

i've got have been given 2 black friends who stay in London and Rome and that they are having a great time. it truly is an option yet i think of it could be unhappy to contemplate which you will desire to pass away that united states of your beginning and homestead of your ancestors who have been right here earlier the Irish, Italians and a great form of others just to be chuffed. yet, eh, like I suggested. it truly is an option. The pursuit of happiness can take you far and if which potential Paris or anyplace, then so be it. :-)
