How much do you want to make in a year? In Southern California you are NOBODY unless you make at least $100,000/year, right? At $650/oz you will need to recover at least 150 oz a year, which is around 12 and 1/2 pounds (Troy measure) per year, not counting expenses. Where do you expect to find this 12 and 1/2 pounds of gold each and every year? (That is roughly 1 lb per month or 1 oz every 2 and 1/2 days) If your enterprise is like most, you will need to recover roughly twice this amount in order to cover your expenses and net the above mentioned salary. So in reality, you will need to recover roughly one oz per day, assuming you don't want to work 7 days/ week. Good luck.

There is still gold to be found, if you know where to potentially find it, and you have the equipment to obtain it. I have personally found small gold deposits in the mountians west of Colorado Springs, CO & the Grand Canyon, AZ.
