All the sanctions and embargoes haven't done anything as of yet.
N Korea is ruled by an extremely violent regime and pressure must be applied by all rational countries.
If terrorist ever get a nuke, it will come from N Korea.

one option. strike now, before they manage to produce more. start with 30 neutron bombs toneutralize their artillery then roll armour all the way to the Yalu river. No Mr. nice guy- time is of essence here. so any serious resistance gets nuked. any likely factories and/or launch sites get nuked. The US has app. 8000 warheads. use them before they use theirs.

Option two. do nothing. which means a lot of blah blah blah, another UN resolution, some trade sanctions- in essence nothing. Within 6 months japan will have their own nukes, so will South Korea. Any small US ally will see the lack of reaction, and start developping their own weapons. the koreans will sell technology, missles and warheads to any taker. 20 years from now life on earth will be gone.

Sic John Bolton on 'em in the UN, talk the Chinese into sanctioning the heck out of them and make our currency even more difficult to counterfeit. I think I'd also give some advanced missle guidance systems and Patriot batteries to Japan.

He is doing exactly the right thing. What they want is for us to bring them up to the level of a world power by having direct dialog with them. Bush is right in asserting that nothing will happen until China, Russia, and Japan get involved.
