my family and i will be visiting europe this winter, but we're debating whether to spend new years in paris or london. any suggestions? which is more family friendly and what special events are there in each city?

Paris is way better... London will probably have rain (keep in mind they rarely get snow, and it rains most of the time there). Also, France just has something magical about it....

Both cities are great fun on New Years Eve. I don't think London quite has the buzz as it used to a few years back but there is always a last minute surge on hotel rooms, so book early. Best to book for 2 nights if you can as alot of hotels may not take a one night booking on New Year just yet. Also try http://www.londonvacationguide.com as a good resource.
