Alex, sweetie there are a few...I love this little place called Lido's I also wouldn't mind taking you to Buca di Beppo, or Olive Garden I am so hoocked on the salad there. One of the attorneys suggested the Promenade in Woodland Hills a place called Maggiano's Little Italy he said the food there was good maybe a little costly but good. He also suggested a little place called San Remo Italian Restaurant. I have also been to Victorio's which is not to far from my job and is pretty good. Were ever we go I am sure you will enjoy the food!

Miceli's is a must. It's an old time Italian restaurant in the heart of Hollywood, on Las Palmas just off Hollywood Blvd.
Both the food and atmosphere are great. The pasta and lasagna are delicious and the dinner rolls are amazing. I think they have entertainment most evenings. Whenever I have out of town guests, I bring them here.

There are several IL FORNAIO restaurants in the Los Angeles and Orange County area. If you can get to any of those, you will find Italian food as close to that prepared in Italy as you can get here. Since "il fornaio" means "the baker" in Italian, you can be assured that you will get the freshest baked bread and pastries there, too. A little pricey, but good.

yes there are -- what price range do you have in mind, and what area of town will you be in?

Here are a few decent ones:

La Buca

Angeli Caffe on Melrose -- good rustic Italian

Enoteca Drago in Beverly Hills -- Italian wine bar, with good pesto and carbonara

La Terza -- modern Italian, good meat dishes

Tre Venezie -- Pasadena (maybe the most expensive of the lot)

There are also some nice Italian restaurants notable for a charming setting: Il Cielo and Il Moro

Some of these might be more expensive than you had in mind, but they are among the best in town.

If you want a nice cozy local place in the South Bay area head down to Redondo beach and visit Buona Sera Ristorante.

http://www.opentable.com/rest_profile.aspx?rid=3776

The rissoto there is awesome.
FYI I hate Italian chain restaurants like Olive Garden.
So if you like going to the chain Italian places then by all means go to Olive garden and Macaroni Grill.
If you like the more local dive, mom and pops kinda of joints Buona Sera is the way to go. Only the locals in Redondo know about this place.

That's a toughy...no, there aren't any. There are a few that can come close to a decent meal, but none are that great. I moved out here over a year ago and haven't had a decent pizza or plate of spagetti & meatballs. Stick with the Mexican food...you won't be disappointed!!!
