a smart student going to university after high school takes 4 years to get bachors, and another 2 to get masters right?

depends on the program
i am starting my masters program for architecture 4 year program. Even after my four year bachelors degree. total of 8 years

depends on the masters degree and if you are working at the time or not. Many people these days, go for their masters while they are working. the time it takes to get the masters for these degrees take from 3 to 5 years, as you are taking fewer classes at a time.

If you are a full time student, then yes, approx. 2 years and you are good to go!!!

Correct; Usually after high school person goes to get his bachelors, 4 yrs. And then to get masters, another 2 years

It's considered a six year degree, but you can often combine one with a BA and get it in less.
