It depends on what you are doing on MySpace. Since MySpace has a lot of flexibility, someone with a malicious intent could embed spyware or a virus in their profile page, or put a link to such malware. However, I've never encountered this, and as long as you have a good anti-virus and use Firefox, you should be safe. Also remember not to download anything from an unknown source.

MySpace itself doen't put infections on your computer. Clicking on links in someones site can give you an infection. It is occuring quite often now.

A friend of mine has a MySpace site. Three of his friends links will infect your computer if you click on them.

myspace's advertisers have in the past (and may still) been able to exploit your browser (if not fully patched) and execute viruses onto your computer.

The correct answer is "it depends"

It depends on what the webpage you are looking at has
loaded on it.

A friend got a bunch of viruses from it.
It is best to turn on your anti-virus protection.

if you dont have any, then down load these two:

http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html

http://www.free-av.com/

they are free

YAH! MY computer caught a virus from there and was taken down in a few hours. I don't know if it was my web browser(i use firefox now, but then it was IE) or what, but be careful what you make accounts on these days!
