I would say the language taught in most schools is English. Millions of people all over the world are learning it right now. Besides English, I think French, Spanish, German, Japanese, and Chinese (in that order) are taught in most schools.

Schools meaning high school? Well, I htikn the languages taught at most high schools depends on regional demographic reasons, such as where I lived, there was a majority of Chinese and Korean people, and my high school offered Chinese and Korean, as well as Spanish, but no Japanese. So I think it kind of depends on where the school is situated to make the best use of resources, since not everyone may want to learn a more difficult language such as an Asian language compared to something more simple as Spanish, where you don't have to learn new characters. My high school also used to have German, but that fell out of and they took it out of the curriculum.
