Hit the start button on the bottom left hand of the screen then go into my computer then find the sound and audio icon (it looks like a speaker making noise) when that screen loads click on advanced settings and manually turn up volume with your mouse, when you've adjusted click ok and close out screen. My computer resets constantly so you may have to do this every once in a while. I hope this helps.

Run a diagnostic on your sound card and make sure that it is working properly. Also, make sure your speakers are actually turned on if they are external to your PC. It doesn't matter how loud you have Windows Media Player's volume control set if your speakers aren't turned on and set to an appropriate volume level.

Check your computer settings, something's not right. Is your computer's sound on and not the media player? Or perhaps the other way around? Um...play around with the configuration for a while...then see what happens.

Do you get sound from other programs? If not, you should check your cables, try reinstalling your sound card's drivers, and try to troubleshoot that. If it is only Windows Media Player that won't give you sound, you should check your settings, especially under Preferences->Devices.
