Sleep with someone, or tape yourself.

Do you wake yourself up and gasp for air? Have someone watch you while you sleep.
Snoring can be an indicator of a very serious problem..sleep apnea.
I was diagnosed 3 years ago. My then husband used to roll me over, shove me, wake me up because my snoring was too loud. He was a light sleeper anyway so I just thought it was him being a jerk. I was tired during the day, would take naps after the kids left for school, I would have many "on and off" days. Finally I went to a sleep study clinic and was told that I had sleep apnea, in addition to snoring I would stop breathing for up to 20 times. I was given a CPap to wear (it looks like what the fighter pilots wear) to keep my airway open while I slept.
Sleep apnea can contribute to high blood pressure, depression, fatigue and many other things. It also is hard on the heart. So please If you think you have any of these symptoms get it checked out!! Snoring is NOT just a bad habit...it can be a sign of something worse!!!

If you don't have someone sleeping near you to tell you that you snore you can set up a tape recorder. Or if you wake up in the night with a very dry mouth or you drool that means your mouth is open and you very well could be snoring. To stop it: No alcohol before bed, if you are overweight...lose it, sleep on your side, get one of those neck pillows that supports you better, or use those strips on your nose to help keep your nostrils open. Hope this helps.

Set up a tape recorder, one of the most common reasons for snoring is being overweight, if this does not apply to you you need to try not to sleep on your back as snoring is made worse by this (golf bal sewn into PJ top)

Being overtired excaberates snoring so don't get to tired before you go to bed.

1. Have someone listen to you all night
2. Old wives cure...sew a potato in the back of your nightclothes (supposed to keep you off your back coz a lot of snoring happens when you lie on your back). Im not sure I would actually want to try this, but then I don't snore ;)

You need to make an appt with an ENT. They will probably set you up for a sleep study. This is really the only way that it can be determined if you need help. You will spend one night in the hospital with a monitor to monitor brain waves and breathing. If you do have sleep apnea you will have to sleep with a machine at night that helps your airways stay open it is called a c-pap. Get to the Dr. ASAP, sleep apnea can be dangerous if not treated.

Why dont you record yourself. Apparently drinking booze makes people snore more and sleeping on your back. An old fashioned remedy is to sew a golf ball to the back of your pyjama shirt to stop you lying on your back.

people tend to snore if they sleep on their back
so if your record yourself and you find out you do snor
then tie a golf ball to your back (old wife tail) and this will stop you sleeping on your back and hence stop you snoring!!

Get someone to share your bed and then get them to kick you every time you do.
You will not only know if you snore, you will stop to.
Could end up being very tired and abit bruised!!!!!!
