Never had the experience, but from what I've heard from different girls, it isn't the same for everyone, for example for some it is painful accompanied by cramps, for some others it's irregular, some heavy and some light...whether there is one unique and universal factor I don't know.

Why did God make mosquitos? Actually, birth control pills can make menstrual pain, even severe pain, disappear. If I were to ask the question, I'd wonder what evolutionary advantage there is to having pain during menstruation. Not one that I can think of off the bat. Then I'd ask if it was present in mammals other than humans. Back pain is thought to be the result of humans evolving to stand upright, and that happening rather rapidly in evolutionary terms. In other words, I'd like to know what science has to say about the subject.
