I moved to Florida in 1992 from Maryland and it was the best thing I have ever done. I love the weather here no snow ice, but now dont laugh, when it gets in the low 70's I'm COLD. I guess my blood really thinned out. Even though I refuse to swim in the ocean I love walking on the beach it is just wonderful. I am close enough to the theme parks and have passes to them all, but far enough away to be out of the traffic. I enjoy the summertime thunderstorms, and have learned to deal with the Hurricane threats and hurricane hits. I just cant say how much I enjoy it here, but then again I do know people that moved here thinking it would be great and they didnt like it and moved back up north. Well thats my reason. So Good Luck and Hope you like Florida it's a Great place to live. Take Care, KG

I live in Florida, and I would say, it depends where you are moving. I lived near the beach while growing up and really enjoyed it. Now I live in the Orlando area. There are a lot of positives about living in Florida, for instance, there are a lot of cool places to visit within the state. One reason a lot of people like Florida is because of the weather, that is what I don't like about it. It is just a preference though. Depending on where you are moving from, you might take a while to adjust to Florida, because it is a lot different from other places in the country. Will you be working in FL or going to school? There are a lot of good colleges and universities in FL, so that is also a bonus. If you will be working in FL and potentially buying a house, I wish you luck. Home prices in FL continue to rise and not proportionately with wages, but the good news is that it is a buyers market. I know this is a lot of information. If you have more specific questions, then please let me know. I am a Florida native, there aren't many of us in this state!

there's all kinds of different area in florida, i sure wish u would've said where in florida ur moving. north florida is almost like another state, the same with South florida. i'm a fl native and i want to get out of here i live in melbourne it's so hot in the summer, just miserable. in the winter it can be summer one day and the very next day freeze. walking the beaches is great but u really can't do it very much. i used to live in sarasota and that was nice becuz i got to see the sunsets, it's indescribable..in melbourne even though we're 20 miles away we can hear and feel the space stuttles go off and that's pretty cool. but 2 yrs ago when the hurricanes came through was without electricity for 4 out of 6 wks again that's indescribable too

Where in Florida are you moving to? I actually want to move out of Florida because I am bored of this place. There's nothing to see if you have visited all the theme parks. It's so hot in here during the summer. I am sure you are aware of that. But if you love the beach, I think it would be a great place for you to live.

I live in central florida (Orlando). If you are married w/ kids, its an okay place to live. If you are under 25 or over 40 and single it hellacious. If you are educated and enlighted I don't care what you age and marital status it is, it sucks.

OH and we too have four seasons

1 Hot
2 Really Hot
3 Too Damn Hot
4 Hella Hot
