HDTV stands for high definition television. it creates sharper images than regular tv. for example, if u r looking @ a pic of a bird, on regular tv you would just see the regular bird, but on HDTV you can actually see the detail of the bird, like its feathers and color. i hope i helped!

HDTV uses higher resolution.
It compares to running your monitor at 640x480 or 1280x1024.
There is just a lot clearer picture.
It also takes about 6 times more bandwidth.

AND with HDTV comes, FINALLY, Dolby Digital 5.1 sound! Yay! Just like on dvds! I know, you're thinking, hmmm I can get surround sound now. But surround sound is NOT dd 5.1! I LOVE hdtv. It's just like looking out a window! ;-)

HD means high deffinition and it makes the picture a lot clearer. my dad refuses to watch anything thats not in it anymore, but i thnk normal tv is justa good. if you have a lot of money to spend on the TV then why not?

double the resolution or better ( clear water - muddy water) look for the designation 1080p (lines of resolution ) for the full effect or you will be sorry ( this is highend now but long before you need a new set it will be common - like next year )
