What will happen if you drop the holy Qu'ran(kinda like the Bible in the Islamic religion)?

I think it really makes a difference if it was accidental or on purpose. It is considered disrespectful to put the Quran on the floor, but I'm sure accidents happen in a religion that has billions of followers.
There's also this mentioned at the end of a Newsday article about Afghan traditions: "The faithful will not toss or drop the holy book and will kiss it if it falls to the floor."

It shows disrespect for the religion. It would be like just tossing a Bible without care. Its not the end of the world, but it is a disrespect.

plz dont ask this type of question, for muslim, it is a sin which is called Gunaha-e-kabira and if u drop it by mistake the Allah is very Raheem (forgiver) and kareem,
Islam is stand on sunnah (ahadith) and holy quran and they(muslim) will not drop it ,
