2 things:

* you can right click on your desktop or in any folder, mouse up to new, and click on "compressed (or zip) folder."

* winzip is another program you can download to compress files. I highly recommend winzip, and I use it a lot.

Due to the size of the file you're trying to e-mail, most mail servers will REJECT it as it exceeds the online standard of 10 MB's. You could use a file compressor like WinRAR or 7-zip to break up the file into small (1.44 MB / 10 MB's) parts, but it can be a pain.

I suggest that you upload the file to a file hosting site like Rapidshare ( http://www.rapidshare.de ) & sending the link to your friend via e-mail to pick up. That way, neither you nor your friend will have to deal with the hassle of multi-volume zip files.

Rapidshare allows you to upload files (as large as 100 MB's) & will hold the file for 30 days from it's last download.

Don't email it! Give me a second and I'll give you a link to the site you need to use.

OK, here are a couple of sites that will host big files for you:
http://nano.sharebig.com/
http://www.mailbigfile.com/

The second one will store the file and send a link to the recipient automatically. I'd use the first one though (sorry I said the second one earlier by mistake), because you can apply passwords to the file in question. The first one also has the largest upload limit that I know of, at 1.5 GB for each file (you can upload as many as you wish).

If you need to zip the file(s) to put them together, WinZip is a good program for that.

Have a nice day!
