i'd say no more than 3-4inches. walk in something that you know you are capable of walking in; dont try to be daring and go for the biggest heel you can find! you'll look even more ridiculous stumbling around the stage than having a slightly smaller heel than the others.

Don't wear anything under 3, because it might look dinky, but don't wear anything over 5 either, because tripping and falling on your face isn't so great either...
So somewhere between 3-5 inches.
