That's a very good question. They really don't know, and haven't made it well known that there was a third building. Even more interesting, they seemed to know that is was going to fall. Which is why some people suspect that someone lined all three buildings with explosives and used the terrorist attack as a decoy, to distract the public.
Not exactly a pleasant thought, but I do think its a possibility. That being said, the idea that any part of the tragedy that occurred on 9/11 was deliberate is extremely unpopular. That does not mean it isn't true however, it just means its popular to not think.

To correct some of the answers above:

Towers 1, 2 and 7 were the only ones destroyed on 9-11.

Towers 1 and 2 were hit by planes and collapsed within an hour, Tower 7 didn't collapse for about 7-10 hours (I forget exactly).

One of the fire cheifs is quoted as saying something along the lines of "this building needs to be pulled" (I don't remember the quote exactly, but he did specifically mention pulling). To "pull" a building means to demolish it.

This means that Tower 7, the third building mentioned by the asker, was demolished intentionally by Americans. 1 and 2... thats up for debate...

Other than the Twin Tower buildings, five other buildings at the World Trade Center site were either destroyed or so heavily damaged by the blasts, fires, and so on that they were essentially destroyed. They include building 7 of the World Trade Center complex, the Marriott Hotel, two subway stations, and St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. In total, 25 buildings were damaged, all seven buildings of the World Trade Center Complex had to be razed, and two other buildings had to be condemned (the Deutsche Bank Building and Borough of Manhattan Community College's Fiterman Hall) due to toxic conditions near the site.

As to how... well, a jet full of fuel is essentially a bomb. Even if you're not at ground zero of an explosion, you can still be injured by the force transmitted through the air and ground, and debris moving at incredible velocities can easily be scattered across a huge radius. How many chunks of one building does it take to reduce a second building to uselessness?

The building in question is WTC7.
The 9/11 Conmission report simply states that it doesn't know how it fell down.
The videos show a classic demolition job, starting at ground level.
It was obviously destroyed intentionally.

When the twin towers fell, their impact on the ground itself shook the ground, ruble falling, etc.. That is what caused damage to other buildings.
As far as those "the govt did it" types out there, they live in a different world. Islamic extremists did it, not the men in the black helicopters.
