cigarette taxes are state taxes, so it is kind of apples and oranges there. But to legalize marijuana and tax the crap out of it is a great idea. No more cops getting killed, no more space taken up in prisons, over marijuana.
RLP, marijuana is not a hallucinogenic drug, it is a stimulant. Stop watching Reefer Madness! And BTW, legal or not, stoners are on the road, driving under the speed limit, pulling over often for fast food. lol
As far as growing it yourself, people don't do that with tobacco, so I don't think that is an issue

These are different issues. Marijuana should be legalized and taxed. Cigarettes may or may not need to have more taxes levied against them. I've gone to Canada a few times and noticed their cigarettes are like $6.75 a pack! As for liquor, a six pack of beer costs about $14 US! That, to me, is outrageous. But it balances out because they have free health care. Of course, that's not fair if you're someone who is pretty healthy.

As for Capital Gains taxes, I say keep taxing them. In fact, raise the taxes more. The only people who make money off Capital Gains are people who have enough money to invest anyway.

and why would we want to abolish capital gains? as someone who's invested in real estate, I can tell you capital gains is income. i wasn't deterred from making income in this way because this income is also subject to tax. i just object to a billion a week+ of our tax money disappearing into iraq, to kill innocent people, destroy the country's infrastructure, and enrich bush's friends.

I do not want to legalize a hallucinogenic drug. It is bad enough we have to worry about drunks on the road but stoners too...aaahhh...no.
I do not think there should be a capital gains tax. Must we tax EVERYTHING? The income that we invest is already taxed, and then we pay capital gains, and then we pay sales tax, gas tax, etc. When will it end?

The war on weed is insane. If it was legal, and taxed....then we could use the money for good things. And the police could concentrate on real criminals.

Cigarette taxes are high enough, we shouldn't tax people to death for their personal enjoyments.

Capital gains shouldn't be cut, until the budget is balanced, and we can afford it.

RLP marijuana is not a hallucinogen it does not make you Hallucinate, your either a liar or just a moron. The reason its not legal is because it will compete with pharmaceuticals and rich old farts would loose money. There are other reasons as well but I won,t bother.

i smoke and do agree with raising cigarette tax , but they would lose money legalizing marijuana due to people growing it so easily

And hemp makes a far superior paper and at a rate greater than a forest does (10,000 acres of hemp can produce as much paper as 40,000 acres of forest), and virtually all good paints and varnishes come from hemp-seed oil

Because Cigerettes and Marijuana are more poisonous than investment properties. We shouldn't require poisonnings to flourish as a nation.

Cause we would grow it ourselves and not pay the tax.
