You all know what I'm talking about.

Just desperate to be heard? Does it make them feel good to provoke a reaction? Are they mad and just venting?

Actually, I'm just looking for an honest answer here, from a psychological perspective. It's a behavior I can't think of any rational explanation for.

the reason why people people do that is for two main reasons:
1. they want people who agree with them to give them props and add a little extra insight in their "question"
2. they,sometimes foolishy, think that no one will have credible arguments against what they have to say and the "asker" is aiming to solicit incompetent dissent

Oh my gosh! This bothers me too!

But then whenever I want to answer their question, I just can't figure out how to tell them that. Thanks for articulating that!

I have no idea. In fact, I hate it when people ask questions here that could be easily answered through a little resesearch or picking up a telephone, or something easy like that.

Actually, all the questions are just a sub-plot to a massive sting operation to insure you lose your mind before you realize that you possess all the answers to life's mysteries - and we are all in on it!

It's like road rage. The annonymity makes you more aggressive. Also, some people just like to piss other people off.

It's kind of sad.
