Birmngham, Alabama? There's a killer music scene there. Lots of cutting edge alternative stuff that smokes larger cities. From April through December, there's always some festival, party, etc. etc. going on there.
Really great entertainment, too.
We moved here from Chicago, and are amazed at all the things to do in this town. If you can't find a way to stay entertained, then you just are lazy.

Go to the Whistle Stop Cafe and have some fried green tomatoes. Yummy...
