Short ones!

To bad for you, this a long one:

I prefer long answer because they are very detailed and give the writers full thoughts about a topic or question.
Usually Yahoo! Answer users with long answers give the best ideas and answers because they can get their opinions across to the reader clearly. Some short answers can be misconstrued as meaning something else.
Short answers can be so vague and lacking in detail. For example the question can be "What are better cats or dogs?", a simple answer would be dog, but where is the information or feedback behind it all? That person isn't even explain why they like dogs better. Is it because they own dogs, or they had a bad experience with a cat? Where is the developed explanation?
Long answer-givers are usually wise and have a lot to say. We give long answers because we feel that it is our job to fully explain something; it's kind of like OCD of answering questions it that makes any sense to you.
Well, that is my side on the debate, and this is coming from a fourteen-year-old freshman in high school.

*this is going to be a long answer even though I prefer short ones!*

In many cases, where it's easy to descriminate between choices, or the outcomes of a decision, then a short answer is spot on and saves a lot of people a lot of time. In, down, out. Problem solved.

In other cases, though, the consequences of decisions are not so easily discriminated. The outcomes are a lot less clear, or not so different from each other. They may even be simple variations on the same ultimate outcome. It's THEN you need the long answer, so that you know exactly what you're doing, and why you're doing it.

Sorry for the long answer!

first off, what is the real reason you are asking this question. is it really because you like the short, sweet answers? then why not do a poll, and see who agrees with that. or are you looking for an in-depth analysis of other q/a's that delve the murky depths of the just right answer, always on the lookout for that next 'best answer' so they can do a little dance? i can appreciate a long, drawn out answer if the answerer has really done some research, or really knows the subject and can give a good answer within the allotted allowance of words. but what really gets my goat is the cut-and-past answers. they look it up on wik, or google, and take the easy way out. to sum up, i like a good answer, be it brief and concise, or long, detailed, and accurate. thank you, God bless

I like the short ones or sometimes the long ones, but mostly short. Sometimes a long answer bores you but if there is no other way to get your point across then you may have to go long. I however am leaning more towards the long ones today for some reason. I hope I was not to long in the tooth answering your question. But if I had to answer with just one word I would have to say....SHORT definitely!
